Among building energy consumption, the central air-conditioning energy consumption of the Shanghai central air-conditioning project is relatively large, and it far exceeds the consumption level of lighting, office equipment, elevators, etc. Although the application of central air-conditioning in Guiyang is much lower than that of household air-conditioning, the growth rate of the former is catching up, and it should be taken seriously. According to data, most large-scale buildings in Guiyang currently use household air conditioners, and many of them are already facing renovation. At the same time, with the rapid growth of new building area and the advancement of urbanization and smart city transformation, the new demand for central air-conditioning has also increased significantly. Regardless of whether it is a large-scale central air conditioner or a household central air conditioner, the industry judges that its consumer demand will show a much higher growth rate than household air conditioners in the next few years.


It is understood that in developed countries, the energy consumption of central air-conditioning accounts for about half of building energy consumption. Based on the calculation of building energy consumption accounting for 35% of total energy consumption, central air-conditioning energy consumption accounts for about 17.5% of total energy consumption. The total area of existing buildings in my country has exceeded 43 billion square meters, but so far the total area of energy-saving buildings is only 230 million square meters, and energy-saving buildings using high-efficiency central air-conditioning are less than 1%. Of the approximately 2 billion square meters of new buildings added each year, it is reported that the proportion of green buildings is around 3%. According to the China Energy Conservation Association Energy Conservation Service Committee, my country's large-scale public buildings currently account for about 5%, or 2.15 billion square meters, and most of them use traditional central air-conditioning systems such as ordinary screw compressors and centrifuges. If it can be replaced with energy-saving units, the country is expected to save more than 16 billion kWh of electricity each cooling season, which is equivalent to 1/5 of the annual power generation of the Three Gorges power station or 13 million tons of standard coal.


At the same time, the combination of renewable energy and buildings will also provide feasible ideas for the development of central air-conditioning systems and even energy-saving buildings. In particular, as a renewable energy technology, ground source heat pumps have the characteristics of high efficiency and pollution-free, and they play an increasingly important role in building energy conservation.
